Griffin Accuses Walter Jones of Voting with Obama
Taylor Griffin appeared on local radio Thursday
The opponent of Third District Congressman Walter Jones is accusing Jones of siding more with President Barack Obama than any other Republican. Appearing on 103.7 WTIB with “Tom and Sadie” Thursday afternoon, Taylor Griffin used a recently released report to make his claim.
Citing Congressional Quarterly’s Roll Call results from 2013, Griffin says the statistics show Jones voted with President Barack Obama’s positions 30.8% of the time, the highest percentage of any Republican in the House.
Griffin said that his political advertising always say Walter Jones is a good man. “My disagreements with Walter Jones are on policy and on his voting in Congress”, said Griffin. “Walter Jones is still a good man, just not a good conservative. The question is, is he representing eastern North Carolina well and is he representing eastern North Carolina’s values well.”
Griffin is challenging Jones in the Republican May primary.
Tom Lamprecht and Sadie Klaus host the afternoon radio show, which airs Monday-Friday from 5-6 pm on 103.7 WTIB and is simulcast on 94.1 WNBU in New Bern-Morehead City.
