Dear Editor:

Check out the Secular Student Alliance organization. Secular Student Alliance promotes “secularism” and “human based ethics”. Human based ethics versus spiritual based ethics is the key. God centered in our lives versus human centered lives. Guess who is an active member of this group? You guessed it! Uriah Ward!

According to the campus newspaper at UNC Pembroke, the Pine Needle, guess who attended the 2012 NC Secular Student Leadership Summit representing the ECU chapter of Secular Student Alliance? You guessed it! Uriah Ward!

Also attending this Summit was Max Nielson of the Atheist Humanist Alliance who boasted that he had sued his former high school for reciting a prayer at his graduation ceremony. Also represented was Freedom from Religion, a group well known to advocate and sponsor litigation to crush and silence people of faith. Uriah was there!

Guess who refused to stand and place his hand over his heart and recite the Pledge of Allegiance while a student at J H Rose High School? You guessed it! Uriah Ward!

The majority of people of Eastern North Carolina do not embrace the thoughts, values, and ideals of Uriah Ward. The people have a right to know what this person stands for. Ward stands for nothing I stand for I promise you.

Come on Veterans, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents; the Democrats can do better than this for a candidate for North Carolina House. Make sure you know who the person is you are voting for.
